Wisdom is a forever currency

In the Information Age which is slowly becoming AI age, knowledge can or can not pay, as much of the knowledge is freely and abundantly available digitally. Once you have a mobile device with Internet connection, almost all information and data of the world is available at your fingertips. Therefore we need to think beyond the concept of knowledge and focus on the concept of wisdom.

In any time or age, wisdom has always proved its worth. In the beginning of humanity, knowledge was not that easily available. But our forefathers survived mostly on wisdom. And the record of such wise behaviours became what is today known as knowledge. Knowledge can help us to a great extent, but it’s not a solve all phenomenon.

We are realising that really fast nowadays due to the advent of Artificial Intelligence. Many knowledge based skills are getting redundant day by day. AI engines are becoming really efficient at handing monotonous tasks. Many jobs which are common today, won’t be there in the next 10-20 years. Career or life paths imagined with a mindset of last decade won’t take you far. Although they can do a better job of taking you back to your village, where I believe a better life still exists, without all the technological advancements of the world. You can live a minimalist, peaceful and somewhat pollution-free life, probably with your parents, in much less money, and you can actually contribute into nature rebuilding process by doing farming or tree planting or any of the other agricultural activities. It’s an easy yet tough life for the most.

That going back to village and living natural life wouldn’t work for all. People want progress and want to live in an urban world where everything is quickly available and there’s an illusion of economic growth.

Such people dread the growth of Artificial Intelligence and subsequent job losses. But in reality, it’s a wonderful opportunity for humankind to pivot towards creativity and wisdom. Doing something innovative instead of being stuck into the wheel of monotony and trying to compound some small savings, which will eventually be eaten up by inflation or capitalism.

Each individual might need to think beyond what is routine today at some point. If you’re presented with this dilemma, be happy, you’re the chosen one. Think beyond all the mediocrity and already designed maps. Pivot towards unknown and find new directions.

That pivot can surely make your life and in effect human life more fulfilling and joyful.
