What is the originality?
There is a famous saying that first appeared in the Book of Ecclesiastes: "There is no new thing under the sun".
Many thinkers also believe that Everything under the sun, or in simpler words, in the world or on the whole earth, is just a good or bad copy of something already existing or created. This basically means that all art, ideas, human behaviour and even inventions are inspired or copied from something which has already been explored or created in the human history, which itself is a millions-of-years-long phenomenon according to many scientific studies.
What does this mean for us?
Do we not have any capacity to create something completely original?
Then why we feel different when we write a poetry?
Why does something which came to you naturally feels more special then something you have trues and created? Mainly in terms of new ideas and creativity.
Are all thoughts, organic or planned or forced, unoriginal?
Creating a power point presentation based on very obvious facts does not feel as similar or as exciting as writing a story or even not as relieving as writing your own journal.
There are times when we definitely believe that we are creating something new. If nothing is new, then what is that?
Some people say, complete originality is not possible. But, new combinations of the ideas or things which are already discovered can feel like you have created something new.
A poetry or a song or some other extract of your heart is exclusive to you. When you truly share that, without letting it being too adulterated with outside elements, it feels really organic and people love that. But, is it original?
I believe that it is. Something shared truly from the heart is always original. That is why, that poetry you are writing in your heart from so many years or decades is original. That tune only you know and sing alone, is original.
As for the other material things of this world, I completely believe that nothing is completely original and has inspirations from so many places.
